Grever, Maria, composer, singer, pi­anist; b. Mexico City, Mexico, Aug. 16, 1894; d. New York, N.Y., Dec. 15, 1951. ASCAP 1935. Of Spanish parentage. At four to Spain where formal education was largely in music. At twelve returned to Mexico City. As a child mastered piano, violin, guitar, later coloratura with vocal re­cordings. Scored numerous motion pictures. Wrote special numbers for concert singers and film stars. Many concert tours, chiefly in Latin Amer­ica; occasional engagements in Eu­rope. Presented complete programs of songs of own creation, words and music.
